Jocelyn Grivaud.
The French artist has created the ‘poupée barbie’ collection to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the famous doll. Each work reinterprets a famous image pulled from photography, paintings by the masters, stills from powerful films as well as ancient sculpture in form of a barbie standing in as the protagonist. Grivaud aimed to rectify the negative representation in modern media barbie received, and instead, portray the iconic doll in varied representation in order to appreciate concepts of both antiquated and modern beauty.
